Aircam Super 8 from Superstudio

Word from Daniel Casselby of Superstudio of their new Red Epic lifting multirotor platform

We are now proud to introduce our new colleague The “Super-8″.

The work has been exciting and fun! But not without problems, of course.

Designing a “hobby” multirotor drone, able to lift 4 kg payload (8.8 pounds) is piece of cake.

But! Designing a platform that lifts 4 kg heavy camera like the Red Epic without affect the flight characteristics negatively and the same time makes it possible to deliver a stable picture from the camera when it blows 15 knots. Is much more difficult!
Another important thing with this type of work gear is quality. It must be robust and reliable. All components must be of the highest quality to cope daily work!

Our Super-8 has a flight time of 10 minutes per charge. The energy source is easy to change and recharge in only approx. 20 min.
Ease of use, Is also something that we have had in mind when we designed Super-8. 6 years of experience working with aerial film, we know what is required of the equipment. Everything must be simple! You should just be able to concentrate on the mission and not the technology. Just press the “button” and go!

World premiere, stage one “Aircam Super-8″ ready for pre order. Developed by Superstudio D&D for Red Epic/Scarlet.
Payload: 4 kg, 8.8 pounds
Flight time: 10 min
Aircam 3 axes gyro and mechanical stabilized, 360 gimbal rotation.
