Skyline Software Systems Announces an OEM Partnership with Acute3D for the Delivery of Automated 3D City Model Generation

Skyline Software Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has established an OEM partnership with Acute3D. The unique Acute3D technology for extracting complex 3D data from oblique aerial imagery in a fully automated process will be included as part of the SkylineGlobe TerraBuilder product family.

“The ability to quickly and automatically generate 3D data from imagery even for dense urban areas has the potential to revolutionize the way people use geospatial data” said Ronnie Yaron, Skyline’s CTO. “The further ability for classification of features in the generated 3D model is a huge differentiator. Being able to query attributes and to select and highlight individual features in the data, such as buildings, transforms current visualization technologies from a simple 3D mapping into a powerful geospatial information tool that can drive more complex data discovery” he continued.

“Our software’s automated production of 3D data from simple photographs along with Skyline’s ability for 3D data streaming, visualization and analysis creates a unique value in the geospatial market” said Jean-Philippe Pons, the CEO for Acute3D.

The new versions of TerraBuilder products, incorporating Acute3D technology, are planned for release later this year and will include the ability to generate 3D models for entire cities directly from vertical and oblique imagery in a fully automated manner. These city models can then be loaded directly into the SkylineGlobe TerraExplorer client application or streamed over a network using the SkylineGlobe TerraGate server, a high performance terrain steaming server.
