MDA contract in excess of $100 Million for Afghanistan UAS and support for Australian Forces

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed two contract amendments with the Commonwealth of Australia.  The first extends MDA’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle surveillance service for the Australian Defence Force in Kandahar Airfield an additional two years. The second provides for a three month assessment activity that will provide critical information in support of Australia’s efforts in Afghanistan. The combined contract value of these amendments is in excess of CA$100 million.

MDA has been supporting the Australian Forces by providing critically important real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance information directly to ground commanders, since January 2010.
