Vicor to Demonstrate Improvements in Power-to-Weight Ratios at AUVSI 12

Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ: VICR) today announced its participation in the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s (AUVSI) Unmanned Systems North America 2012 conference, hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 6 – 9, 2012. At the event next week Vicor will highlight its full range of high density and high efficiency VI Chip® power modules and Picor® semiconductor power solutions, which are optimized to enable superior power-to-weight ratios for demanding unmanned vehicle applications. Conference attendees can visit Vicor at booth #246 in Hall D at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Tom Curatolo, Vicor’s director of global defense and aerospace, is slated to deliver a presentation at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 8, at the ‘Beyond the Booth’ showcase in Hall B. Mr. Curatolo’s presentation — “270V and 28V to Load Power Conversion: A 4X Advance in Power to Weight Performance” — will demonstrate how power conversion solutions that utilize high frequency, soft-switching topologies can dramatically minimize the size and weight of onboard power supplies to extend the range and payload capacity of unmanned vehicles.

AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America is the premier forum for reviewing, assessing and discussing the current state of the unmanned systems market. The event brings together the key leaders and decision-makers in the industry. Officials from government and user organizations around the world attend and participate in the symposium program.
