Armenia to produce UAV for domestic use

Armenia is considering producing its own unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said in an interview with the Nezavisimaya Gazeta daily of Russia.

“We already have a ready-product. We have introduced our designs for robot soldiers and unmanned helicopters. The testing is currently in progress. If it becomes clear that their production is more advantageous than their purchase from other countries, they will be used in rearming the armies of Armenia and Russia,” the PM noted.

Also, Sargsyan informed that there already are some military industry enterprises and scientific research institutes that receive state orders for armament research and development.

“There is a list of products, which they will manufacture, and our research projects. For example, the production of robots that are used in demining,” Armenia’s PM stated.
