Aerodyne Wins $105 Million Army Contract

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Aerodyne, Inc., a leading aeronautical engineering and technical consulting company, has been awarded a contract potentially worth more than $105 million to provide technical and engineering support for the U.S. Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Project Office. Aerodyne is a subsidiary of MCR, LLC, of McLean, VA.

Under the Project Manager, Army UAS Technical Services contract, Aerodyne will be performing a full suite of integrated program management services, including acquisition management, systems engineering, test and evaluation, and life-cycle logistics support, including fielding, training, and sustainment.

The five-year contract has a base value of more than $9 million, with five additional options. If all options are exercised, the contract value will exceed $105 million. The work will be performed primarily at the Army’s Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville.

Aerodyne is currently performing this work under an expiring contract the Army awarded the company five years ago. “We are pleased that the Army selected us in the re-competition for this important work, which enables us to continue providing leading-edge technical and engineering services for Army UAS programs,” said Jim Charlton, Director of UAS Programs for Aerodyne. “We are committed to helping the Army develop and exploit UAS capabilities in support of its mission.”

Aerodyne has 75 employees and supports numerous Army customers at the Army’s Redstone Arsenal. Aerodyne specializes in aeronautical systems and provides full spectrum technical solutions, including program management, aviation integration, testing and certification, training and requirements development, and system lifecycle management for manned and unmanned systems.
