SkySkopes and Interactive Aerial announce strategic alliance

Legacy One Aircraft

SkySkopes and Interactive Aerial are announcing a strategic alliance in the North Dakota UAS market and beyond.  SkySkopes is the leading UAS flight provider in the State of North Dakota, and Interactive Aerial is one of the very few companies pioneering internal flight for unmanned vehicles. Their aircraft, the Legacy One, is tailored for internal flight for markets such as boiler tanks, chemical & oil storage tanks, and even underground applications struggling with a lack of GPS and adequate light.

“We’ve seen some amazing things out of the extremely talented squad over at Interactive Aerial.  Their aircraft is truly a revolutionary platform and we are proud to be their official flight service provider in the Northern Great Plains.  Additionally, they have roots at the prestigious John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Science at the University of North Dakota which adds to the safety factor of their company culture.  This is also why we are opening a SkySkopes office in Michigan with Interactive Aerial as a partner,” said Matt Dunlevy, SkySkopes President and CEO.

“Interactive Aerial greatly values our newly formed partnership with SkySkopes in Grand Forks. Their team exemplifies the qualities we look for in a group to do business with. This alliance allows us both to grow in premier UAS markets, allowing opportunities that will span across the entire northern part of the United States.” Said Christian Smith, CEO of Interactive Aerial.

SkySkopes and Interactive Aerial are pioneering FAA approved Safety Management Systems virtually unheard of in other UAS companies.  The young entrepreneurs at Interactive Aerial and SkySkopes are together pioneering innovative new uses for unmanned aircraft at the UND Center for Innovation, deep in the heart of the Silicon Valley of UAS: North Dakota.

SkySkopes is one of the handful of North Dakotan companies legally approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly unmanned aircraft for business purposes.  SkySkopes employs several certified pilots with UAS educational backgrounds from UND and flies its large fleet of aircraft for aerial cinematography, industrial inspection, security purposes, precision agriculture, training certification, and other use-cases.

Interactive Aerial is a UAV manufacturer based in Traverse City, Michigan. The company just opened its first regional office out of the UND Center for Innovation.  The company had the foresight to enter a market of unregulated GPS-denied airspace.  This move has allowed them to enjoy a market leadership position due to indoor flight being relatively untapped.  Few companies understand the complexities of 360 degree collision avoidance through the use of various sensors as well as Interactive Aerial has.  Recently, the company debuted their Legacy One aircraft to a grateful Grand Forks UAS community where it received high praise and very positive receptions from businesspeople and educators alike.

“This is only the beginning,” Dunlevy voiced.
