In  July of 2015, Galaxy Aviation, a subcontractor for City of Frisco, Texas, hosted Drone Summer Camp for the kids age 10 to 16. Over four sessions, campers trained to safely fly the high-tech drones and practiced maneuvering techniques by navigating aerial obstacle courses.  Through interaction with passionate industry professionals, participants learned about current and emerging aviation and aeronautic career opportunities.  Campers studied regulatory and ethical concerns related to Unmanned Aircraft Systems and real-life applications of drone technology.  At the end of the program, campers took home their own Quadcopters to continue exploring aviation and unmanned aircraft careers.
The camp was recognized by Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS), and nominated for the honor awards by the organization. The Drone Camp finally won the Lone Star Recreation Programming, Class II for 2015. Each year, TRAPS recognizes and honors organizations that have rendered significant contributions to the field of park and recreation. Drone camp award can be seen on this website :
