Lets not quite loose our heads (see what I did there) over the eHang184.

Its a fun diversion lacking in performance.

A quick glance at Trade a Plane shows me I can purchase an R22 with 685 hours of life remaining for $85k this would allow me to take a friend at least 380km at 170 kph. I fly helicopters which helps ;-)


The economics of large man carrying multi’s just don’t make any sense. Perhaps as unmanned cargo airframes yes, with the seat and all the other non essential stuff stripped out. Performance vs cost, its just not there.

I do however admire eHang for bringing this concept to CES it will get people talking and thats a good thing. It also shows an innovating mindset at eHang. Something other multirotor makers lack.
