Quarkson Solar Powered Internet Drone

Quarkson Solar Powered Internet Drone

A test flight for Quarkson, no not the sacked Top Gear presenter, the Portuguese UAS manufacturer.  They have put their hat in the ring for solar powered internet drones.

This is one use that I know will fly based on the excellent world beating work of the QinetiQ Zephyr in 2010. Two weeks in the air with power left over.

Apparently a WiFi router was added to this airframe so they could claim internet connectivity. I’m not seeing evidence of the solar power. Perhaps a greater explanation in the video would have been a good thing.

Well done on missing the fence on the right lads.
