Precision Integrated Programs to Support the International Conservation Caucus Foundation at Summit in Arusha, Tanzania

Precision Integrated Programs representatives are traveling to Arusha, Tanzania in the first week of November to support the International Conservation Caucus Foundation’s (ICCF) summit Stopping Wildlife Crime & Advancing Wildlife Conservation: A Call to Action. This summit, presented by ICCF in partnership with the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, and in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank, Global Environment Facility, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will bring together stakeholders from all over the African continent to combat poaching and promote wildlife conservation.

Precision Integrated Programs will provide displays of unmanned aircraft, and report on successful past performance using these aircraft to monitor wildlife movement and to observe human interaction with wildlife populations. Precision has successfully completed anti-IUU (illegal, unregulated, and unreported) fishing missions internationally. Through such efforts, Precision has collected and disseminated actionable evidence to host-country governments entities in order to allow prosecution of illegal actors.

This summit will promote regional and trans-boundary collaboration among Tanzania and its neighboring governments and citizens. The summit will bring together seven African nations – Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi – to combat poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking and to advance sound natural resource management. Discussions of action plans and agreements will involve the public and private sectors, as well as local communities, regional on-the-ground experts, and donor institutions, resulting in a set of action items for each country to support. The summit is a critical component of The ICCF Group’s broad anti-poaching strategy.

Precision is proud to be a supporter of this summit to establish binational and multinational agreements on the management of shared ecosystems, with specific attention to international waters such as the coastal waters of the Indian Ocean, the Great Lakes, and major rivers, including a focus on IUU and dynamite fishing.

Precision is partnering with Aerovel to highlight the unprecedented 40+ hour capability of the small, long-endurance Flexrotor UAV. Flexrotor represents a marked advance in miniature robotic aircraft technology, and in the ability to deploy high-quality video and other kilogram-scale instruments with unprecedented flexibility and autonomy. The Flexrotor’s economy will enable long-promised civil applications within Precision’s scope of services, including geological survey, weather reconnaissance, fishery surveillance, environmental monitoring, and offshore patrolling.

About the ICCF

The International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF) is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation promoting the projection of U.S. leadership for international conservation worldwide. ICCF brings together leaders at the highest level of government, business, and the NGO community. We set the conservation and environmental agenda by coordinating people with scientific expertise, organizations that support and manage programs on the ground, and policymakers who shape legislation.

In today’s 21st century, the U.S. needs to exert responsible and forward thinking leadership in conservation policy and in providing the export of conservation expertise to the world’s emerging nations. For a decade, the mission of ICCF has been to serve as the nucleus for Congressional leadership for U.S. international conservation in concert with the projection of U.S. business and national security interests worldwide.

ICCF underpins the leadership of the bipartisan U.S. Congressional International Caucus (ICC), which comprises more than a third of the U.S. Congress. We educate policy makers on international issues of natural resource management throughout the legislative process. We are pro-business, pro-development and pro-environment. We are committed to market-oriented solutions for conservation and sustainability worldwide.
