One of the most attractive features of drones and other remote technologies is being able to access dangerous, even inhabitable, locations. Some projects take drones into more dangerous places than others.

For the past three years, The Weather Channel’s Philip Grossman has an interesting side project; piloting a drone above and through one of the world’s most radioactively contaminated sites. Grossman explains his endeavor, experiences, and shares some of his photography on DroneJournalism.org.
