During the opening of the academic year at Aerospace Engineering ATMOS UAV was awarded a permanent place on the Wall of Fame in the central hall. The aim of the Wall of Fame is to raise awareness of our inspiring, innovative, investigative and entrepreneurial members of staff and students within the faculty. DUWIND, Professor René de Borst (Spinoza Prize) and student Jesse van Kuijk (human-powered aircraft) have for example already been given a place of honour.

What started as a student project in 2011 became a very promising start-up company. Team ATMOS has successfully competed in several international contests and is well on its way to transforming its design for an unmanned aircraft for making observations from the air into a product that will have its market launch in the next year. In 2013 they won the Dutch Aerospace Award.
