Next week the International Micro Air Vehicle (IMAV) Conference and Competition of 2014 will take place in Delft, The Netherlands. University research groups from 21 different countries are attending this event to present their research in the field of MAVs.

IMAV is a yearly event that combines a scientific conference and a competition. The conference will be held this year at the university in Delft on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (August 12, 14 and 15). A live stream of the keynote and conference presentations will be made available via the event website. The schedule of the presentations can already be found on the website

The competition will take place in a realistic training village with 34 real houses called ‘Oostdorp’, a military training area where competing teams will have to perform various tasks using autonomous MAVs. The main tasks are surveillance, recognition, long endurance and multi-MAV operations. These tasks are defined such that they mimic a real life disaster scenario; competitors will try to accomplish as many different mission elements as possible. 13 international teams will be competing in this challenge this year.

IMAV 2014 is organized by the Micro Air Vehicle Laboratory  of Delft University of Technology. More information about the event can be found at imavs.org.

Also check the “microuav” YouTube channel for recordings of the keynote and conference presentations during and after the event. More videos about the IMAV 2014 will be posted here during the event and also videos about other projects of the MAVLab can be found at this channel.
