Sad news from Australia. Anthony Banks Teacher-in-Charge Mueller Aviation, at Mueller College wrote to inform us that Peter Hill has passed away. Our heart felt condolences from all at sUAS News to Peter’s family and friends.

Peter Hill, one of the founding fathers of UAVs in Australia, has passed on. Peter was a director with VTOL Aerospace and worked with Professor Rod Walker (CSIRO – Rod also passed away a couple of years ago). Peter’s funeral was in Brisbane, and Mark Xavier (VTOL), Peter La Franchi (LFRG) and Joe Urli (ACUO) spoke as well as Pete’s brother and some vets as Pete was an ex-soldier. From my perspective as a teacher, Pete would love to come out to Mueller College where I teach and watch the students fly. He was always thinking of possibilities and his legacy will live on in terms of encouraging young people to further their studies and skills in unmanned aircraft. We will miss him dearly. regards – Anthony
