AAI Corp. chooses power-conversion electronics from Analytic Systems for Shadow UAS

DELTA, British Columbia, 24 Jan. 2013. Engineers at the AAI Corp. Unmanned Systems segment in Hunt Valley, Md., needed power electronics for the AAI Shadow tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). They found their solution from Analytic Systems Ware LTD in Delta, British Columbia.

Analytic Systems announced its largest order ever for a power system for AAI Shadow, which is in service with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, as well as with other operators, company officials say.

Working with AAI’s Engineering team, Analytic Systems power-control experts have modified the company’s LIAC600 Army-Marine Corps AC lithium-ion battery charger, LIDC600 Army DC lithium-ion battery charger, and PWS1510MS ruggedized power supply to work as a complete power system for AAI’s next generation universal ground control station for the Shadow and other unmanned aircraft, company officials say.

nalytic Systems is capitalizing on the company’s recently purchased manufacturing operations software from Aegis Software in Horsham, Pa., which is designed to improve efficiencies and quality by streamlining and controlling process planning and launch, process tracking and control, and quality and test management, company officials say.

The software will improve reliability, flexibility, and traceability in the production of important projects like the Shadow UAV power system, officials say.

Analytic Systems makes high-performance power conversion products including DC to DC voltage converters, MPPT solar charge controllers, AC and DC source battery chargers, AC to DC power supplies, and DC to AC inverters for military, rail, transit, industrial, and commercial marine applications.
