Cassidian boosts sUAS presence with SurveyCopter acquisition

Cassidian has acquired SurveyCopter in a bid to increase synergies within its light unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) segment.

Created in 1996, SurveyCopter is a French defence company based in France and Switzerland which has partned with Cassidian since 2003.

Cassidian now plans to launch a new industrial pole specifically dedicated to tactical UAVs and light UAVs, including Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL UAVs), in order to better match a growing demand of the sector in both military and private mission environments.

This addition will fulfil its long term objective of targeting new businesses in the small UAV segment in export markets such as India and the Middle-East.
SurveyCopter specialises in hostile environment robotic, and autopilot particularly for VTOL through its subsidiary WeControl.
