Unmanned air vehicles probe agricultural disasters in China

Beijing–The commercial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) codenamed AH3N, which was independently developed by Anhua Agricultural Insurance Co., LTD, was granted a chartered flight certificate recently.

It is the very first time in China and it marks the evolvement of China’s commercial UAVhas entered the systematic application phase, a historical new height, from research and development phase.

For a long time, China has used traditional door-by-door means for agricultural disaster investigation which is inefficient and costly and makes the whole agricultural insurance process — from underwriting to claims — imprecise and unprofessional.

The UAV investigation system contains three core technologies: UAV photography system, image post processing system and data analysis system, which can insure the precision, speed and effectiveness of disaster investigation and loss determination.
