Outback Challenge update

D2 videos trickle onto the web, the D2 videos are to prove to the judges that the bottle drop works and the aircraft continues to fly safely afterwards. It also shows pre flight checks.

News on the street is that at least two teams, have suffered some pretty major airframe issues during testing.

Team Rocky were using a delta but are now back to theĀ original high wing airframe. OpenUAS completly re kitted their rather pretty tail powered motor glider.

All the teams that are entering are climbing a technical mountain, long range control, video, autonomy and a precision drop. Just to enter is a gutsy move.

I think this year Joe is going to get bored of being rescued so many times.

Looking forward to the biggest field yet and an exciting competition.
