Millswood GCS for Attopilot

To complement the Millswood failsafe device Andrew Dunlop has started work on a new GCS for all Atto versions, very much in Beta testing as Andrew states,

“The GCS intrinsically supports the Failsafe – sending out heartbeats and reading a joystick to control pan, tilt and zoom outputs, but the absence of a Failsafe will not affect operation. If you connect up a joystick you’ll be able to see the little boxes move around – the GCS won’t even know there’s no Failsafe there.

The GCS writes KML files, and possibly I have gone overboard by timestamping everything. You can replay your flights within Google Earth, and if there are markers they will appear at the correct time. But timestamping does mean that you need to fiddle with the time slider thingy in Google Earth and this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Your thoughts here would be invaluable.

I would love to hear about problems, feedback, bugs, and of course any blatant stuff-ups.”

sUAS news looks forward to testing the new GCS shortly.
